Proje ile ayr\u0131ca disiplinler aras\u0131 etkile\u015fim, lisans, y\u00fcksek lisans ve doktora \u00f6\u011frencilerine i\u015f imkan\u0131 ve katma de\u011ferli \u00fcr\u00fcn geli\u015fmesine katk\u0131 hedefleniyor. GT\u00dc Malzeme Bilimi ve M\u00fchendisli\u011fi \u00d6\u011fretim \u00dcyesi Do\u00e7. Dr. Ebru Men\u015fur Alkoy\u2019un proje y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fcc\u00fcs\u00fc oldu\u011fu \u2018Investigation of the Effect of Crystallographic Anisotropy and Defects on the Electrocaloric Response of Stress-free Relaxor Ferroelectric Plates by Experimental and Analytical Techniques\u2019  isimli proje  \u2018American Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) European Office &#8211; Aerospace Materials for Extreme Environments\u2019 taraf\u0131ndan destekleniyor. 3 y\u0131l s\u00fcrecek olan projenin k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck orta\u011f\u0131 ise Sabanc\u0131 \u00dcniversitesi olup yard\u0131mc\u0131 y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fcc\u00fc M\u00fchendislik ve Do\u011fa Bilimleri Fak\u00fcltesi \u00d6\u011fretim \u00dcyesi Do\u00e7. Dr. Bur\u00e7 M\u0131s\u0131rl\u0131o\u011flu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalara katk\u0131 sa\u011flayacak.<\/p>\n<p>Proje ile ilgili a\u00e7\u0131klama yapan GT\u00dc-Malzeme Bilimi ve M\u00fchendisli\u011fi \u00d6\u011fretim \u00dcyesi Do\u00e7. Dr. Ebru Men\u015fur Alkoy bas\u0131n\u00e7, y\u00fcksek ya da \u00e7ok d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck s\u0131cakl\u0131k gibi ola\u011fand\u0131\u015f\u0131 ko\u015fullarda \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan uzay malzemeleri geli\u015ftirmenin \u00f6neminden s\u00f6z etti. Bu kapsamda yap\u0131lan proje i\u00e7in \u015funlar\u0131 s\u00f6yledi: &#8220;S\u00f6z konusu projemiz onlarca alt gruptan ola\u011fand\u0131\u015f\u0131 durumlarda \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan havac\u0131l\u0131k malzemeleri k\u0131sm\u0131nda yer almaktad\u0131r. G\u00fcnl\u00fck hayat\u0131m\u0131zda, \u00f6rne\u011fin buzdolab\u0131nda temel prensip olarak buhar-bas\u0131n\u00e7 temelli so\u011futma kullan\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Ancak \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma s\u0131ras\u0131nda do\u011fal olarak \u0131s\u0131nan ve so\u011futulmas\u0131 gereken elektronik devreler vb. bir\u00e7ok cihaz i\u00e7in bu t\u00fcr bir so\u011futma, minyat\u00fcrle\u015fmeye uygun olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in neredeyse imkans\u0131zd\u0131r. \u00d6zellikle uzay ve havac\u0131l\u0131k uygulamalar\u0131n\u0131n gerektirdi\u011fi ola\u011fand\u0131\u015f\u0131 ortamlarda \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan elektronik mikro\u00e7iplerde alternatif so\u011futma tekniklerine ihtiya\u00e7 vard\u0131r.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElektrokalorik veya kat\u0131hal so\u011futma ad\u0131 da verilen ve baz\u0131 \u00f6zel malzemelerde elektrik alan uygulanmas\u0131 ve kald\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 sonucu arada bir s\u0131cakl\u0131k fark\u0131n\u0131n olu\u015ftu\u011fu so\u011futma y\u00f6ntemleri de s\u00f6z konusudur\u201d diyen Alkoy,  \u201cBu durumda elektrokalorik malzemenin temas halinde oldu\u011fu \u00f6rne\u011fin elektronik bir devre de bu sayede so\u011futulabilecektir. Burada kullan\u0131lan malzemeler s\u0131radan malzemeler olmay\u0131p, elektronik malzemeler s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131nda de\u011ferlendirilen dielektrik malzemelerdir. Fakat bu konu hen\u00fcz \u00e7ok yeni olup ara\u015ft\u0131rmaya a\u00e7\u0131kt\u0131r. Bu projede de bu s\u0131n\u0131ftaki malzemeler \u00f6zel bir \u015fekilde mikro devrelere uygun olacak \u015fekilde mikron boyutunda \u00fcretilip, elektrokalorik denilen bu etkinin tart\u0131\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131 ve alt\u0131nda yatan temel prensipler ara\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lacakt\u0131r. Ayr\u0131ca deneysel veriler analitik y\u00f6ntemlerle geni\u015fletilerek optimizasyon \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131 da yap\u0131lacakt\u0131r. Projenin daha b\u00fcy\u00fck potansiyelde cihaz yap\u0131m projelerine alt yap\u0131 olu\u015fturmas\u0131 beklenmektedir.
